Welcome to the new Rocky website!

June 1, 2022  |  Estes Park, Colorado

Welcome to the new Rocky Mountain National Park.com website. We just launched this new website to provide you with everything you need to know to have an amazing experience in Rocky.

My name is Erik Stensland. I’m the owner of this site and I am delighted to show you around one of my favorite places on this planet. I’ve spent nearly two decades living right at the edge of the park, and have explored nearly every little corner of it. I’m an author and a professional nature photographer. I’ve written numerous books on Rocky Mountain National Park, from hardcover coffee table books to some of the main hiking guides on the park. As a photographer, I also have a gallery in Estes Park called “Images of Rocky Mountain National Park”. Needless to say, I am one of the biggest fans of this incredible place and I look forward to sharing it with you.

The aim of this website is to help you find everything you need to prepare for your visit, while also helping you to be the best possible visitor. 94% of Rocky Mountain National Park is designated wilderness area and protecting it should be a concern for all of us who visit. Throughout this website I plan to talk about how we can all take small steps that will go a long way towards ensuring that this park stays pristine for generations to come.

This website is working in coordination with Estes-Park.com which provides helpful information for the beautiful town of Estes Park, Colorado at the eastern entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. While this website provides everything you need to know about Rocky Mountain National Park, Estes-Park.com provides all of the information about food, lodging, and other activities in Estes Park.

There is already a great deal of information available on this website but, over the coming years you can expect it to grow significantly. I plan to produce regular articles on this blog addressing current subjects of interest, from articles about the many types of wildlife, to current scientific studies being conducted in the park, to news from the park. There are also numerous new sections I want to add to this website. As we get rolling you should see something new added regularly.

Thank you so much for visiting. We welcome your input to help make this the best site possible to serve your needs.
