Each of the visitor centers offers accommodations in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act including accessible restrooms, interpreters, ISA designated parking spaces, subtitled videos, and more.
Accessible Facilities in Rocky Mountain National Park
Alpine Visitor Center
Located at the intersection of Trail Ridge Road and Old Fall River Road, the Alpine Visitor Center sits at 11,796' (3595 m) in elevation. This is the highest visitor center in the national park system. The Alpine Visitor Center offers accessible parking spaces, curb cut outs, accessible vault toilets, and accessible flush toilets throughout the summer season, on the east side of the Visitor Center. There are no picnic tables. The Alpine Visitor Center is open Memorial Day weekend through Indigenous Peoples Day, weather permitting.
Beaver Meadows Visitor Center
Located on Highway 36 west of Estes Park, the Beaver Meadows Visitor Center is widely considered the “main” visitor center of RMNP. It is open year-round except Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. Beaver Meadows Visitor Center offers accessible parking spaces, curb cut outs, accessible flush toilets, and a lift between floors (750 lb./340.2 kg. limit). The park film that regularly plays in the theater is captioned for hearing impaired and features audio description for the visually impaired. An induction loop receiver is provided in the auditorium for the benefit of hearing aid users. The Beaver Meadows Visitor Center also provides official Park brochures in Braille and large-print versions. Fall River Visitor Center
Located on Highway 34 west of Estes Park, the Fall River Visitor Center is the newest visitor center. It is open year-round except Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. Fall River Visitor Center offers accessible parking spaces, curb cut outs, and a lift between floors (200 lb./907.2 kg. limit). There are accessible flush toilets located in the adjacent store via a covered walkway.
Kawuneeche Visitor Center
Located on Highway 34 north of Grand Lake, the Kawuneeche Visitor Center serves the west side of RMNP. It is open year-round except Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. Kawuneeche Visitor Center offers accessible parking spaces, curb cut outs, and accessible flush toilets. The park film that regularly plays in the theater is captioned for hearing impaired.
Moraine Park Discovery Center
The Moraine Park Discovery Center is located in Moraine Park off of Bear Lake Road and features a large gift shop and other exhibits. Moraine Park Discovery Center offers accessible parking spaces, curb cut outs, accessible flush toilets, and a lift between floors (500 lb./226.8 kg. limit).
