I had to hide out in the trees, just below tree line, for about an hour as a thunderstorm passed over. Then, as the sun set, while it was still raining, I came across a small herd of bull elk that were grazing on a hillside nearby. They allowed me to make a photo of them in this gorgeous light. It was one of those magical fleeting moments in Rocky Mountain National Park that are out there waiting to be experienced. Photo © copyright by Erik Stensland.
