Raptor Closures Lifted

We're happy to announce that all raptor closures in Rocky Mountain National Park have been lifted for the 2026 nesting season.

Birds of prey include Peregrine falcons, Golden eagles, owls, and hawks. Rocky's climbing rangers and volunteers play a vital role in the monitoring and success of the raptor management program, ensuring that these majestic birds thrive in their natural habitat. Their expertise and dedication in navigating the park's challenging terrain are crucial to protecting these species.

The same cliffs that are critical for raptors also appeal to climbers. We extend our gratitude to all our visitors for adhering to the closures and helping us maintain the natural integrity of these vital ecosystems.
