Estes Park
The elk babies are beginning to be born in the Estes Valley and in the lower meadows of Rocky Mountain National Park. This young one was just born shortly before I made this photo.
Be sure to stay far away and give them plenty of space. It can be very dangerous to upset a mother caring for her newborn. Photo © copyright by Erik Stensland.
