Lava Lines - 17x27
Rocky Mountain National Park
Along Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park is a pull-over called "Lava Cliffs". Here the deposit of ash from a nearby volcano created a rock very different from the surrounding mountains. On this morning I was captured by the warm light, the contrasting harsh lines with the soft undulating shadows on the snow. These are the types of scenes I can't get enough of.
