Rocky Mountain National Park
Rocky Mountain National Park is usually a very windy place. When I walked out my door early on this summer morning there wasn't a breath of wind. I knew that this would be the perfect morning to photograph a mountain lake. Conditions like this would create a nearly perfect mirror reflection. I decided that Bierstadt Lake would be the ideal place to capture the Continental Divide reflecting in the still waters.
So, I made the hike up to the lake in the dark and waited expectantly. As the sun rose, the mountains began to glow with a deep red color as the clouds above them seemed to light on fire. On this morning everything was perfect. It was exactly what I had been dreaming of.
