The alpine tundra in Rocky Mountain National Park is now golden as it enters the late stage of the autumn season. It is now experiencing colder days and nights, often with stronger winds, a reminder of the winter that will soon arrive. Yet this is still a great time to get up there and enjoy the tundra before the winter closes off Trail Ridge Road and with it easy access to the top of the park. Just be sure to dress appropriately.
